For players that consider themselves completionists or maybe want to explore more of what the Dragon’s Dogma 2 world has to offer, it is important that players avoid turning in a particular “point of no return” quest. This type of quest in games is known to drastically alter the game state, making some areas inaccessible, NPCs moved, quests unable to be complete, and/or locking the player into a particular region.

This article contains minor spoilers such as mentioning the name of a questline, a stage within that questline, and the consequences of the completion of said quest. Though many details will be left out, such spoilers can still give clues on the events taking place at the end of the game.

After progressing through the Main Story quest, players will eventually receive a questline titled, “A New Godsway.” At this point, players will need to collect Wyrmslife Crystals and turn them into a particular NPC. However, after doing so, the majority of the world will be locked out for the player, side quests will be unresolved, and players are “put on rails” until they complete the Main Story. It’s worth noting that after completing the Main Story, the only option players have is to create a New Game Plus save file.

It’s recommended that due to each playthrough in Dragon’s Dogma 2 having only a single save file that players finish whatever they’d like to do within their current playthrough before turning in the above mentioned quest.

With Capcom releasing a preview on the official Dragon’s Dogma 2 X (formerly Twitter) account of a patch allowing multiple save files (but still only one file per playthrough) some players are hopeful that multiple saves during each playthrough will be added in the future. If so, then the consequences of quests such as this won’t be as drastic and players could revert to an old save to experience content they may have missed otherwise.
